REQUIRED AT YOUR FIRST DESIGN APPOINTMENT

You will be required to provide any custom appliance specifications (if you wish to install something that does not fit within our standard openings) as well as selecting your exterior colour package (if applicable). We suggest starting with these 2 items to prepare for your appointment as they will be required early in the Design Stage. See your sales agent or reach out to our Design Centre for more information about our standard appliance openings, and what is considered a “custom appliance”.

Our Appointment Policies

1. ATTENDEES: We kindly request that only the individuals named on the Purchase Agreement and/or those living in the home should attend this appointment. Our space is limited especially when there is more than one appointment happening.

2. CHILDREN: For safety reasons and to ensure a focused experience, children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the Design Centre. The facility is not child-friendly, and everyone’s safety is our utmost priority.

3. LATE ARRIVALS: We kindly request you arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. Late arrivals will shorten your allotted appointment time. We will not be able to extend the appointment time as our schedules are fully booked weeks in advance.

4. RE-SCHEDULING: Should you need to reschedule your appointment, please provide us with as much advance notice as possible. Our Design Centre appointments are booked several weeks in advance, and insufficient notice may unfortunately result in our inability to reschedule you in a timely manner, potentially leading to a missed deadline for your file submission.

5. NO-SHOW: If you have missed a scheduled appointment at our Design Centre without notice prior to the appointment, you will be subject to a no-show fee.

FAQ’s

Design Centre
  • WHAT COMES STANDARD IN MY NEW HOME?

To see exactly what’s included as part of your new home, you can refer to the “SCHEDULE B” in your legal agreement. This outlines all the builder’s standard features for your home. We also recommend looking through our Design Centre Standards package, which provides helpful visuals of many of the finishes listed in your “SCHEDULE B.” This way, you can get a better idea of what those standard features will look like!

  • WHEN DO I FIND OUT WHAT THE PRICING IS FOR OPTIONAL UPGRADES?

Due to the extensive range of upgrade options and model-specific pricing, a single comprehensive price list isn’t available before your appointment. We tailor a detailed quote to your selections so you get an exact idea of how much the upgrade options cost for your specific model. Your first Design Centre Appointment is dedicated to building your personalized Wishlist. Afterward, your Design Consultant will email you a comprehensive price list for your review at home. This allows you to discuss your options before your Design Finalization Appointment, where you’ll confirm your final choices.

  • WHY DO I NEED TO FINALIZE MY SELECTIONS SO EARLY IN THE PROCESS?

We understand that finalizing your selections early on might feel like a big step! However, once you’ve completed your Design Centre appointments, many behind-the-scenes teams go to work preparing for the construction of your home with the custom finishes you’ve chosen. Once your Design Centre package is approved, materials are ordered, and trades are scheduled, allowing us to move forward smoothly with building your home. Finalizing your decisions helps ensure that everything is on track for a timely and successful construction process.

  • IF CONSTRUCTION HASN’T YET BEGUN, CAN I MODIFY ANY OF MY SELECTIONS OR UPGRADES?

Once your selections are finalized and approved during your final Design and Colour appointments, we share the necessary details with our construction team, who then places purchase orders with our trade partners. After these key details are confirmed across departments, making late changes can be very challenging and can increase the risk of errors. We understand that this can be frustrating, but we truly appreciate your cooperation and understanding in helping ensure the quality and timely delivery of your home.

  • CAN I VISIT MY NEW HOME WHILE UNDER CONSTRUCTION?

Your safety is our paramount concern. For your absolute protection, and the safety of our teams, entry into any Claridge home under construction is strictly prohibited unless a pre-arranged and supervised visit has been scheduled directly with your sales agent or site staff. Construction sites present significant and unpredictable safety hazards. Claridge Homes maintains a zero-tolerance policy for unauthorized site access to ensure a secure environment for everyone.

  • CAN I DELETE MY HOOD FAN AND INSTALL ONE ON MY OWN?

Unfortunately, removing the hood fan to prepare for your own hood fan installation is not possible. To meet building inspection requirements and receive an occupancy permit, your home must have a functioning hood fan. Claridge Homes offers several high-performance options for you to choose from, ensuring your kitchen is both stylish and fully compliant.

  • CAN I REQUEST A FINISH THAT IS NOT OFFERED AT THE CLARIDGE DESIGN CENTRE?

All selections for your new home must come from our current Design Centre offerings. We work closely with trusted suppliers to ensure that we’re providing you with quality, durable products that we can confidently warranty. This also helps us maintain consistency and ensures that every product we install meets our high standards.

  • WHY ARE THE STAINS FOR STAIRS, NOSING AND RAILINGS DIFFERENT THAN THE ENGINEERED HARDWOOD?

Our hardwood floors are carefully selected from trusted suppliers and are factory-finished for a consistent look and feel. However, because your stairs, nosings, railings, wood caps, and mantels are finished on-site, their stain may not match the flooring exactly. Additionally, wood is a natural material with variations in colour, grain, and texture. We’ve worked closely with our local stair and railing partners to create custom stains that complement our hardwood offerings, but an exact match isn’t possible due to the natural variations of the wood. These subtle differences are what make each piece unique! During your appointment, you’ll have the opportunity to review our custom stain colours and select the ones that best complement your flooring.

  • WHY AM I GETTING A CLARIFICATION? WHAT IS IT?

A clarification is a request for additional information or confirmation to ensure that everyone is on the same page. This might be related to plans, specifications, or contract details. It could also occur if a product becomes unavailable or if certain details need further review. If you receive a clarification, it doesn’t mean you can make changes to any other items in your file—it’s simply to address specific details that need clarification. The clarification helps ensure that everything is clear and accurate before moving forward with the next steps.
